Acting for Teens

Have you been told you are a natural performer and are you a teen? Can you take direction well and have a unique look and great personality? Acting might just be the career for you. You could be on the big screen, TV or on stage with proper training and dedication and the time to start that career is now!

The more successful actors actually began their careers during their teens. The opportunities for that age range are endless, teens are the most commonly casted parts in the acting field. Teens are really versatile in the say that often a sixteen-year-old can be cast for the part of thirteen-year-old or even a twenty-year-old. On the other hand, it’s very difficult to cast a twenty-year-old as a thirteen-year-old.

Your first goal should be to get an agent right away. An agent is your ticket to landing auditions, as they can see what roles are being offered for film theater and even commercials. They can submit your headshot and resume if they see that an upcoming role fits your character type. It’s from that point that if the casting department likes what they see; they will call your agent to set up your audition.

Being well prepared when you arrive at an audition is very important. Not only should you be comfortable with your own ability you should be very professional as well. Every audition is your chance to impress all involved; with guidance of an acting coach and training you will be better prepared as an actor to handle auditions with your best foot forward. Acting classes with peers will help you hone your talents and ultimately make you shine on set.

Your dreams of acting can become a reality with proper training and dedication on your part. Meaning that you will need classes, auditions and over all patience; but don’t forget to have fun. If you aren’t having fun, this is obviously not the career for you. Most acting coaches will tell you if you can see yourself doing anything else, pursue that instead. Fame and money cannot be your only goals when it comes to acting. Your heart must be in the right place and you need dedication. All of this will bring success and happiness.
